Why Dallas homes need a deep clean, not just a tidy-up<\/h2>\n

Regular cleaning handles the surfaces you touch every day. A deep clean goes after the build-up that regular visits skip: baseboards, grout, cabinet fronts, inside appliances and the tops of door frames. In Dallas, two local factors make that build-up worse.<\/p>\n

Hard water leaves its mark<\/h3>\n

In a December 2023 memo to a City Council committee, Dallas Water Utilities answered the question “Do we have hard water?” with a simple “Yes,” and put the city’s water hardness at 120 to 155 mg\/L as calcium carbonate (City of Dallas memo<\/a>). That’s roughly 7 to 9 grains per gallon. Hard water is safe to drink, but the calcium and magnesium it carries dry into white spots on shower glass, crusty rings around faucets, cloudy dishes and scale inside kettles and showerheads. Soap also lathers less in hard water, so soap scum forms faster.<\/p>\n

Hard-water deposits don’t wipe off with an all-purpose spray. They need an acidic cleaner (or diluted white vinegar on surfaces that can take it), time to dwell, and a non-scratch pad. That is exactly the kind of slow, detailed work a deep clean is for.<\/p>\n

Closed windows and constant AC<\/h3>\n

When a house is sealed up against the heat for months, dust recirculates instead of blowing out. It settles on ceiling fan blades, air return grilles, blind slats, picture frames and the tops of kitchen cabinets. A deep clean is the time to get all of those, from the top of the room down.<\/p>\n
