House Cleaning Add-Ons: Windows, Laundry, Oven, Fridge and One-Off Chores
Pubblicato: Novembre 4, 2026
A standard house cleaning covers the rooms you live in every day: kitchen counters and appliance fronts, bathrooms, dusting, floors and trash. But some jobs sit outside that list, like the inside of the oven, a pile of laundry, the inside of the windows or a sofa covered in pet hair. These are house cleaning add-ons, and knowing how they work saves you from a surprise on cleaning day. This guide explains which add-ons you can book with Cleanster, how they affect time and price, when a separate Chores booking makes more sense, and where organizing fits in.
What counts as a house cleaning add-on?
An add-on (Cleanster calls them extras) is a task you choose on top of your clean type. When you book a Standard, Deep or Move-Out clean in the Cleanster app, you pick your home type, bedrooms and bathrooms, hours and then any extras. The extras listed on our home cleaning pricing page are:
- Inside the oven: racks, walls, door glass and the floor of the oven.
- Inside the fridge: shelves, drawers and door bins wiped out.
- Finestre interne: glass, sills and tracks you can reach from inside.
- Lavanderia: washing, drying and folding a load while the cleaner works.
Each extra adds time to the job, and time is what you pay for. The app suggests hours for your home and shows the full price, including the $3 booking fee and any extras, before you confirm. If you are booking a Deep clean, check what is already included first. Inside the oven and fridge are part of a Deep clean, so you only need them as extras on a Standard clean. Our guide to oven and fridge cleaning covers both in detail.
Window and house cleaning: what is covered
“Window and house cleaning” is one of the most searched add-on phrases, and it helps to be clear about what a house cleaner does with windows. With Cleanster, the windows extra means interior windows: the inside of the glass, the frames, the sills and the tracks where dust and dead bugs collect. Cleaners work from inside your home with the reach they have safely.
Exterior window washing, especially on upper floors, needs ladders, water-fed poles and different safety training. That is a job for a specialist window company. If you are pricing “window cleaning services” for a whole house, ask a window company for exterior work and add interior windows to your regular clean.
Tips to get the most from interior windows
- Open blinds and move items off the sills before the cleaner arrives.
- Tell your cleaner which windows matter most (the big living room window, the sliding door) in the booking notes.
- Pair windows with a Deep clean before the holidays or after pollen season, when streaks and dust show most.
Maid services that do laundry
Laundry is the add-on people most often forget they can book. A cleaner can start a load early in the visit so the machine runs while they clean, then move it to the dryer and fold it before they leave. That works best when:
- You have your own washer and dryer in the home or unit.
- The laundry is sorted, or you leave a note on what can go in together.
- Detergent and any special products are out and easy to find.
- Delicates and dry-clean-only items are kept separate.
If you need delicates washed by hand or bed sheets changed without a full clean, those are available as individual chores (see below).
Chores: book one task without a full clean
Sometimes you do not need a whole house cleaned. You just need the pet hair off the sofa, the mirrors done before guests arrive or the bathroom cleaned midweek. For that, Cleanster has a separate service called Chores: quick, fixed-rate help for specific tasks.
In the app, you choose Chores, confirm your address and add the tasks you want. Each chore shows its own flat price and estimated time. Examples of chores you can add include:
- Bathroom quick clean or a deeper bathroom clean
- Specchi puliti
- Vacuum carpets
- Remove pet hair
- Hand wash delicates
- Change bed sheets
- Water plants
You can book chores one time or set them to repeat weekly, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks or monthly. For most chores, supplies are not included by default, so have what the task needs ready, or check the app for any supply option. Pet care tasks should always be booked as Chores. Pet details on a regular cleaning are only there so your cleaner knows about animals and allergies.
House cleaning and organization: what to expect
Searches for “house cleaning and organization” and “organization and cleaning services” are popular, and it is worth separating two jobs that often get mixed up.
- Tidying is part of a good clean. Cleaners straighten cushions and throws, make beds, put stray items back on a surface and clear counters so they can wipe them.
- Professional organizing is a different project. Sorting a closet, deciding what to keep, setting up storage systems or reorganizing a garage takes decisions only you can make, and it usually takes much longer than a cleaning visit.
The best approach is to do the deciding yourself (or with a professional organizer), then book a clean afterwards to reset the space. Clearing floors and counters before your cleaner arrives also means more of your booked time goes into cleaning instead of moving things.
What about carpet cleaning?
Vacuuming carpets is part of every clean, and vacuum carpets is also a chore on its own. Steam or hot-water extraction needs dedicated machines, so book a carpet cleaning company for that a day or two before your clean.
How add-ons affect the price
Cleanster bookings are priced on time, with a 2-hour minimum. Starting prices for a 2-hour clean at our lowest hourly rate are:
- Standard cleaning: from $122 for 2 hours
- Deep cleaning: from $126 for 2 hours
- Move-in / move-out cleaning: from $138 for 2 hours
Prices vary by location. Each extra adds time, so a Standard clean with inside the oven, inside the fridge and laundry will usually need more hours than a Standard clean alone. The app suggests the hours for your home and shows the full price before you book, so there is no guessing. Read deep cleaning vs regular cleaning if you are not sure whether a Deep clean would cover what you want without extras.

Yes, laundry is an extra you can add. Your cleaner can wash, dry and fold a load using your machines and detergent while they clean.
